Dreamers To Leaders Advocacy Program

Empowering Youth 18-24 Through Leadership and Advocacy

We offer a 12 week Department of Labor Approved Training Course for youth 18-24. This Course prepares participants to become effective education advocates, equipping them with skills in leadership, advocacy, and civic engagement while gaining hands on experience in NYC public schools.

Course Overview

This course prepares youth 18–24 to become effective education advocates. Participants will:

 

  • Learn Student Rights & School Policies: Understand how schools operate, restorative justice practices, and strategies to support students facing academic, behavioral, or social challenges.

  • Gain Real-World Experience: Work directly with students, families, and school staff to build partnerships that foster communication, support, and equitable outcomes.

  • Develop Leadership & Advocacy Skills: Participate in interactive workshops, case studies, mentorship, and advocacy projects to guide students, attend school meetings, and promote inclusion.

  • Engage with School and Community Leaders: Take part in a youth roundtable where your voice helps shape ideas and initiatives that improve educational experiences and community support for youth

 

 

Outcome: Participants leave prepared to lead, advocate, and positively impact education and their communities
