Kanika Cousine’s journey from a Harlem youth to the founder of Journey of a Dreamer is a story of resilience, vision, and the transformative power of opportunity. Raised in challenging circumstances, Kanika experienced firsthand how mentorship and access to guidance can open doors and change trajectories. At 15, an early internship inspired her passion for creating meaningful opportunities for young people.

 

In 2019, she founded Journey of a Dreamer to provide youth aged 18 to 24 with mentorship, real-world experiences, and pathways to explore their potential. With locations in New York City and Washington, D.C., the organization focuses on helping young people discover their strengths, gain confidence, and access opportunities that prepare them for the next chapter in life, whether that is further education, career development, or personal growth.
